By Tony 1 month ago

Design Cost Data magazine has once again featured an article by Green Ideas’ President Charlie Popeck in the May 2026 issue. The comprehensive case study article highlights the high-performance design elements that Charlie and his team at Green Ideas Building Science Consultants helped to incorporate into the development of The Pomeroy, a 293,346 square foot multi-family project in Mesa, Arizona.

The low-carbon project features high-efficiency HVAC and appliances, an energy efficient building envelope, and water-saving plumbing systems that reduce potable water use indoors and for irrigation purposes. Low-VOC building materials with Environmental Product Declarations further enhance indoor air quality while reducing the project’s environmental footprint. The multi-family community also supports low-carbon living with EV-charging stations, a reduced parking footprint, and easy access to quality transit.

Blending comfort, style, and sustainability, The Pomeroy exemplifies how modern apartment communities can combine style, comfort, and advanced sustainability in one cohesive development. Through thoughtful design, energy- and water-efficient systems, healthy material choices, and a site that supports transit-oriented living, The Pomeroy enhances resident well-being while significantly reducing environmental impact.

This LEED Silver-certified project stands as a model for future residential development in Mesa,  demonstrating that high-performance building strategies and exceptional living environments can coexist seamlessly.
