Green Ideas is close to completing LEED certification for another multifamily project at the Novus Innovation Corridor. The project, called VERO, is located in the heart of Novus on Parcel 3F. The 200-unit apartment project on .96 acres will include popular amenities, including a resort-style pool with lounge area, a state-of-the-art fitness center, coworking space, a communal area with a kitchen, and bike storage. Each unit will be outfitted with a washer and dryer, stainless steel appliances, and hardwood-style flooring, with some units offering upgrades such as custom built-ins, balconies and Murphy beds. The project will open its first phase in May 2024 with subsequent phases opening later this year.
The VERO project is the first of two projects under construction at Novus by Transwestern Development Company. The second project, aka “Palmera on 6th” is located on Novus Parcel 3G and is a seven-story 333-unit mid-rise apartment complex slated for completion in January 2026. It is currently out of the ground and will be another hallmark facility within the Novus Innovation Corridor when finished.
Both projects are targeting LEED Silver level certification as required by all projects within Novus. The projects will feature plumbing fixtures that will save more than 38% below the LEED water baseline, native and adaptive landscape plants will save 50% of potable water used for irrigation, and the building’s mechanical systems will be at least 33% more energy efficient than a typical multifamily building.
Green Ideas previously helped to LEED certify “The Piedmont”, which was the first multifamily project at Novus to achieve the required LEED certification in July of 2022. Developed by Aspen Heights Partners, The Piedmont is now leasing with great interest due to the “live, work and play” features provided at Novus.
