High-Performance Building and LEED Consulting

The most effective green projects are created when there is synergy between all members of the project team. Green Ideas serves as the catalyst for this synergy. We enhance a project team’s resources with our dedication, knowledge and experience in high-performance building design, construction, and operations.

Our passion for high-performance building design drives us to meet our client’s needs through a holistic, integrated building science approach. While our direct client may be the building owner, architect, contractor or facility manager, we invariably serve every team member to ensure the best possible project results.

We are dedicated to this end result in each and every project. Our consultation process focuses on strategies that produce the best lifecycle cost impact with improved economic and environmental performance.

Green Ideas offers high-performance building consulting services that span each phase of the design and construction process:

What is LEED®?

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) introduced version 2.0 of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating system for commercial, institutional, and high-rise residential buildings in June 2000. LEED evaluates environmental performance from a “whole building” perspective over a building’s lifecycle. The program has grown tremendously since then by proving itself a viable method of providing a third-party green building certification tool designed to ensure building owners and occupants that their building meets stringent standards of performance.

Currently referred to as LEED version 4 (LEED v4), the LEED Green Building Rating System is a point-based program that guides design teams through the design and construction of a high-performance building. A LEED building can achieve four different levels of certification based on the number of points achieved. The levels of certification and corresponding LEED points required are:

  • LEED Certified – 40 to 49 Points

  • LEED Silver – 50 to 59 Points

  • LEED Gold – 60 to 69 Points

  • LEED Platinum – 80 to 110 Points

LEED Rating Systems are available for the following project types:

  • New Construction and Major Renovations (LEED-NC)

  • LEED for Core & Shell (LEED-CS)

  • Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI)

  • Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance (LEED-EB)

  • Neighborhood Development (LEED-ND)

  • Healthcare

  • Retail

  • Schools

  • LEED for Homes

With experience in over 150 diverse high-performance projects, more than 100 of which are LEED Certified, Green Ideas provides invaluable experience and knowledge in the LEED process, strategy development, product selection and team management to efficiently and cost-effectively get your project certified.  Contact us to discuss your project or request a pricing proposal at info@Egreenideas.com.
