Green Ideas President Charlie Popeck is once again delivering his “Principles of Sustainability” course at The School of Architecture in Scottsdale, Arizona for the Spring 2025 Semester. The School of Architecture (TSOA) was founded by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1932 with an emphasis of “Learning by Doing” approach to education. Charlie has been delivering this course at the college since 2016, along with his complimentary “Applied Sustainability” course both of which are a part of the required curriculum.
The course consists of the “Whys” a sustainable approach to the design, construction and operations is necessary for the AEC industry to move forward in a responsible and profitable manner. It also includes a high-level review of a building science approach to the delivery of construction projects including the selection of sustainable sites, water and energy efficiency, material selection and the creation of healthy indoor environments.
Charlie also offers this course in a condensed, seminar style package to private companies throughout the country in an effort to assist AEC firms with their high-performance building goals.
